Transformation of a Bridesmaid Dress

casestudykate.jpgKate approached Like Mother Like Daughter as she had a full length designer bridesmaid dress which she wanted to shorten to wear to a family summer wedding.

As she had a one year old daughter, she expressed an interest to use the fabric which had been cut off to make a matching dress for her daughter.

We talked through possible designs/ ideas and agreed on a pattern to base her daughters dress on.

A sample dress was then made for approval and  some small changes were made before the final outfit was produced.

The dress was then finished off with sparkly buttons and embellishments as a final special touch.

"I loved wearing my Collete Dinnigham bridesmaid dress but I knew I would never wear it again due to the length. I had a family summer wedding coming up and I had the idea to shorten the dress to update it and then make a dress for my daughter with the additional fabric.

I was simply over the moon with both dresses and I loved that my daughter and I looked matching in the wedding photographs.  I also loved that fact that the dress had been tailor made especially for my daughter and that there was no chance any other children would be wearing a similar outfit!

I would thoroughly recommend Like Mother Like Daughter. They were extremely helpful and professional throughout the process and created an outfit which not only met but exceeded my expectations." - Kate Whatley
